SNAP (formerly called food stamps) is a government program that helps low-income people buy food.
How to apply for SNAP

Option 1: If you live in Philadelphia, Bucks, or Chester counties, fill out a pre-screening form. You will receive a call to complete an application.

Option 2: If you live in Philadelphia, call BenePhilly at 833-373-5868.

Option 3: Apply online on the Pennsylvania COMPASS website.

Option 4: Fill out the paper application.
Mail or fax your application to your local county assistance office.
