Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

SNAP (formerly called food stamps) is a government program that helps low-income people buy food.

In 2025, we will start connecting guests to free SNAP benefits screenings, so you can learn if you are eligible for SNAP!

How to apply for SNAP

  • Option 1: If you live in Philadelphia, Bucks, or Chester counties, fill out a pre-screening form. You will receive a call to complete an application.

  • Option 2: Apply online on the Pennsylvania COMPASS website.

  • Option 3: Fill out the paper application.
Mail or fax your application to your local county assistance office.
Call 877-395-8930 (statewide) or 215-560-7226 (Philadelphia) to request a paper application, or print out the application by clicking below.
